While most reviews are overwhelmingly positive, some customers wish for crispier chips, noting that occasionally they fall short of expectations.
A few visitors have mentioned wait times during peak hours, emphasizing a desire for quicker service during busy lunch or dinner rushes. Although the takeaway is well-loved, parking can be a hassle, particularly during peak times, so planning ahead is essential. On occasion, diners have found the seating area somewhat cramped, making it less ideal for larger groups unless arriving during off-peak hours.
Excellent small local chippie. No wait, ordered Sat upstairs in restaurant and food delivered shortly. Fresh chips nice and tasty fishcake. Very polite service and to be honest great prices.

Travelled all the way from Dubai and I am overjoyed to see one Manchester best chippys is going! 21 years since I last ate here and it is still fantastic, if want a proper chippy dinner make your way down Deansgate to this little gem 👏👏👏👏
We stopped after visiting the science and industry museum. Very nice place, the waiters were very nice and kind. Fish was great, fresh and crispy, chips could've been crispier.
High quality fish & chips accompanied with excellent customer service, the dine in area is also extremely clean.
After going to the Museum of Science and Industry on a visit to Manchester we really fancied some "proper chips". A nice lady at the museum told us that there's a chippy nearby. Wow what a find! This chip shop is very much like one you'd find on a sea front. Plenty of seating inside on two levels and very clean with charming black and white pics from days gone by adorning the walls. It felt like a nice family atmosphere. I did ask for my peas and curry sauce to be put on top of my chips- you can get them in separate pots by the way. The staff were very friendly and professional. My ten year old said that these were the best chips he'd had in his life, I think they're a close level-pegging with something you'd get at somewhere like Scarborough. We'll definitely go here again next time we're in Manchester. RECOMMENDED :)
Good quality fish and chips, excellent price for what it offers. Decent choice of accompaniments, very friendly staff, really quick service and very nice sitting area for a chippy. We'll definitely visit again soon!
